Best gaming worlds?

What would your vote be for 'Best Gaming World'? Or a top 3 if you prefer.

I think mine is Far Cry 2's Africa.

Would like to hear your thoughts. Also, on a separate but related note, can you recommend any games like Far Cry 2 that are completely open world FPS games? I have one of the STALKERs but am not really a fan. Would prefer an open world that you actually WANT to explore! Not a dismal, depressing place.

Hyrule for The legend of Zelda Twilight princess. My word what an EPIC world. I thought Oblivions was quite good but the diversity oh Hyrule was just insane. I'm tempted to dig out the old Wii and play through it again.
 
Fallout 3 and NV for open world exploring, but use NMC texture mod, and fellout with Fallout 3, makes it look awesome, and the Fallout watelands gets my vote
 
I'm actually going to say (don't shoot me) Azeroth in World of Warcraft.

Massive, massive world with so much variety - jungle, forest, savannah, plains, desert to name a few, and so much to do/see. Lots of lore behind everything too.

Also another one I thought of. Ratchet and Clank 3 world. And number 2. Both had me in awe as a wee lad. :p
 
My top 3 in no particular order.

Bioshock - Rapture

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - Great Sea

Demon's Souls - Valley Of Defilement

For DS, the entire game is pretty incredibly however VoD is the only game environments that has ever made me genuinely uncomfortable.
 
Vvardenfell (Morrowind), it was varied, unique and had lots of places to explore and discover.

And yeah Lotro, half the reason I kept playing the game at points was just too explore. So many small details and things that make you smile if you are familiar with the books.

Been said before: Stalker,Crysis and Fallout.
But also for me is the Hawaiian island on Test Drive, some beautiful scenery only explorable by car of course!
Oh, and I found the most impresive world is that of Portal. The simplicity of it to start followed by darker grimy mechanical world working behind that is later found.
