The most recent 2 bond films have looked this way, Casion Royale certainly reacted to the Bourne series and adjusted accordingly for more semi-realism.

I enjoyed Taken.

I've always heard how badass Liam Neeson's character was in this film and never got around to watching it, but now that I have the chance, oh my god! It certainly is like a modern day Commando. Gotta love the CIA operative/torture stereotypes though.

I like the bit when Neeson turns up at his ex-wife's to tell her the girl had been kidnapped...I was expecting him to say " I will look for her, I will find her...and I will kill her"

It's shame that they made the daughter behave like a complete retard - I just couldn't care less if she died or not.

Luckily Neeson's badassery was enough to make it work.
