****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

Blimey.

Did anyone post the story about how people managed to get an R4 working on it within hours of the release in Japan?

I think that was only DS games.

As for splinter cell 3D Famitsu in Japan gave it 7/7/8/8,

The graphics and game system is just as good as on the consoles. There's a ton of weapons, items, and gyro-based gimmicks, so you've got no lack of stuff to do

Same, I just wish they'd show some actual gameplay footage because I heard the FPS isn't too good on it. Hopefully there'll be reviews up before the 25th.

Fingers crossed.

I tried the 3DS in westfields London tonight I thought it was pretty good I wasn't to keen on SSFIV it seems so hard to play without a pad. Resident Evil was pretty sweet I felt the 3D worked really well with it.

I hope MGS3 will be out soon.

Apparently a major supermarket (the smallest of the 4) will be doing pre-orders for £187 from tomorrow.

Getting very, very tempted now although my heart is telling me to get a 2nd hand DSi!

Supermarkets will be a major competitor with the pricing of the 3DS and hopefully force the usual game shops to price match on release.

Hopefully they come down a little more then. Will make it much easier to skip the whole DS-generation. Got my fingers crossed that they release an absolute killer of a Mario game, 3D or not.

Had ago in GAME in warrington was very impressed only messed about with the AR stuff for about 10 mins . The 3ds felt very well made lovely screen and no wobberly hinge . Had the slider on max 3d my eyes picked it up with no problem plus i had my specs on :D

Glad i pre-ordered now :D

Well I pre ordered mine from Amazon for £196. Hope they match Morrisons.

On a side note, I ended up purchasing the 3DS and Pilotwings separately from Amazon as there was no option to honour launch day delivery for both, only when I ordered them separately. I'm sure it's just a glitch and they would have both come on launch day but you can't risk it. Not when it's this important.

Anyone know anywhere that are showing the 3DS in Birmingham? I'm desperate to have a go but don't want a wasted journey.

Had a go on some launch games yesterday and in all honesty I thought the console was poor, and the 3d was terrible. Really dissapointed :(

Thanks Kreeeee! I'll report back.

Well I'm back! Thanks again Kreeeee. They had the 3DS behind the counter and the chap who let me have ago told me they've had one lying around for 2 months but weren't allowed to tell anyone until it was launched in Japan.

Firstly I'm really glad I chose Aqua Blue. For anyone who was doubting getting it, don't. It looks really nice. The system felt really well made too.

I didn't get to play any of the launch games but I did play the face shooting game and was really impressed. Not so much with the game but with the effect of the 3D and how I can now imagine it will be implemented in to the A+ titles we are all waiting for. Unfortunately the guy working there couldn't find the AR cards but told me how great it is and what I was missing :D

Overall very impressed, it's a cool piece of kit.

I think June/July will be the time to get one of these. For me personally it's the weakest launch I've ever witnessed in terms of games that interest me.
