Just another incarnation of a game that has hit it's prime and died long, long ago.
Every attempt at bringing back tribes has failed and to add that it's from the devs of GA says to me it will be anything but a triple a title.
I just feel it, in my guts.

Also, 100 players is so not Massively Multiplayer.
Another instanced game with capped population then?

This isn't what I first thought. When you made a thread saying a new tribes i was excited, but the game is one I've seen before. It's not under the tribes name and only very loosely baed on the tribes universe, I've seen gameplay (can't remember the game name) and it looks weak.

Not a true tribes game at all.

But yeah.. developers who made Global Agenda, I don't hold much hope.

Planetside like tribes game would get me back into PC gaming in a shot, IF they dont dumb it down like Vengance.

The support aspects of those games always made for great fun, Laseing targets, NAT runs, laying mine fields, firing mortors from the base. sneaking into an enemy base cloaked and calling targets. great stuff.

Agree. Tribes combined with Planetisde and perhaps some Crysis in there for the graphics and voila. Best game EVER.

Tribes 2 was the game of games. spent so much time playing this, you never got bored because there were so many variations in class, packs and tactics it was awesome in its day, then along came Vengeance

Many Tribes franchise fans abhor Tribes: Vengeance, preferring Tribes or Tribes 2. Will Tribes Universe attempt to draw from the whole of the Tribes IP or are there specific titles that have influenced the game's development?

We'll reference aspects from all of the Starsiege and Tribes titles as it make sense. Initially we are using Tribes 2 as our primary reference base.

Good start. I vaguely remember the T:V developers saying they were going after something more along the lines of Starsiege: Tribes rather then Tribes 2. And as a former Tribes 2 player I didn't like that.

This isn't for the MMO though, they're doing a pure multiplayer Tribes 2 jobbie before releasing the mmo.
