You know, I'm rather glad you said that. On their T&C's they state they do not take payment on pre-orders until they are shipped as sometimes the prices can drop between release and the moment you order the goods.

What the hell are they then taking the money for already?

Aye, as I said, It's a good job I deposited the cash into my account today otherwise I would've been royally annoyed.

Hopefully you don't mean an SDHC card full of pirated games.

Wouldn't want Nintendo remotely bricking your 3DS, as they allegedly can.

Think he just means his SDHC card, as sometimes compatibility with HC cards is a bit odd, Unfortunately the specs just list SD card at the moment so you'll have to wait until it's released.

I've got a 16gb SDHC card here with me, Hopefully I'll be able to put a few movies on it if they allow that with future updates.
 
Well, after umming and ahhing for a while, I decided to take the plunge.
Had a little more than I'd expected for this time of the month in my account; Tesco decided to drop the 3ds game for £10 offer if I preordered this weekend, and I won £25 on premium bonds.

Obviously some manner of stars decided to align themselves for this set of events to occur at once, so preordered the Black model with Splinter Cell, as it appeals to me the most out of the launch titles. I'm not a big fan of the series but it doesn't hurt to take a pop at £10 as I should get more for it trade in if I hate it :)

Obviously, if I decide I dislike the whole thing I can always trade it/sell it close to release and get a decent chunk back. Just hope we seem some good games rolling out over the next few weeks; the launch titles are decidedly anaemic, and it's only the fact that I don't have a DS and would quite like to play Golden Sun DS and Pokemon that had pushed to the point I was considering this, with Zelda OOT on the horizon (which is on my insta-buy list when it arrives as I love the game)

I did yeah, I've not owned a Nintendo handheld for years and it certainly not something I've pirated. I'm actually glad I can pay for Chrono Trigger as the only way most people in Europe played it was illegally.
I said it because I bought the card to use in Mothers HD cam years back for just one event so it would be cool if I can use it instead of standard 2gb.
 
I am seriously tempted to buy this (reading this thread everyday and not having bought a new piece of hardware for ages being the main reasons!!).

The only niggling issue I have is the 3 hours-ish battery life. I am gonna pop into a shop this week to have a play and see if the 3D effect is enough to override my concerns about the pathetic battery life.

wifi is always a battery killer, its the same with my DS Lite and my dataphone...Most DS games though have very poor wifi so you only need to use it sparingly.

Whether Nintendo will implement a next generation of wireless connectivity on the 3ds remains to be seen!
 
Thats cool, we got Sky in multiple rooms at the moment with sports package and a few HD thrown about. Knowing Sky it will still require extra £
 
As far as I know you need the Sky World package for 3D on SKY-TV. Not sure the deal with 3DS though. But going with what KILLSW1TCH says, it will probably cost extra if you don't have Sky World
