Yup, another two roadside bomb planters out of the way. We’re not out there for a picnic, it’s a war. There’s no glorification it's just a good war story, shame we don't have more.
I don't read the Mail, but a friend saw this and linked it to me.

This is absolutely disgusting glorification of killing and makes me feel sick
The comments section is infuriating too, since when did it become 'cool' to shoot people, Taliban or otherwise?
I despair sometimes.
What do you find "disgusting"? The Daily Mail or the Soldiers themselves?

He specifically stated that it was the Mail and its approach he had an issue with. The soldiers (and that for me means any soldiers) do what they have to do, what they signed up for, and do what they're trained for.
The media spin on an event is what's being discussed, not the actions of the soldiers themselves.
I know this is more relevant to you than many on this forum but the OP was, I believe, genuinely talking about the portrayal of the event not the event itself.

What would you suggest the correct course of action against groups that support and perpetrate acts of terrorism against innocent civilian populations should be?
I think the article is in bad taste really. I understand that killing is a necessity of war, but I don't think it's something so glorious that warrants celebration when someone is particularly good at it. I wonder how the sniper feels about it. I know that the Daily Mail put this right wing **** in their paper all the time, it does the UK no good in my opinion.

Oh I'm quite calm. Doesn't change my opinion. Doesn't change the ridiculous self righteous posturing that seems to go on with people on forums. The share ignorance and arrogance is astounding.
It reminds me of this sad state of affairs here with a bunch of inbred Americans busy justifying the thousands of deaths in Japan due to natual disasters on Karma from their attack on Pearl Harbour. Oddly ignoring the fact that they trucked on into Japan with a couple of nuclear bombs and almost instantaneously wiped 250,000 people off the face of the planet. But that's ok because they deserved it...

Do you honestly believe that rolling into their country and, for example, having two guys take out 75 'Taliban' in 40 days is a good response? What difference does it make who they were or how they killed them? Fundamentally it's still one country going into another and killing the people that live there. Eye for an eye huh? Clearly that's always worked in the past. Luckily this has been going on for this long because the end must be in sight huh? We'll just kill a few more of them and they'll learn their lesson and just forget about it...

Ah so statements made in naivety? You're suggestion is that we should all just get on board - head into their country and wipe them out? Problem solved?
Good guys buy whose measure? Were the Americans good guys when they dropped a few bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
You didn't answer the question, Which was, What would you suggest as an alternative?
Also taking specific actions in isolation in theatre is rather silly when trying to assess the overall impact and success of the Operation at large.
