Hi guys...

Basically, we need to make an iPhone app which is a slimline version of a website we have created, it will need to tie into the web backend which already exists.

So my question... is this something which is harder than it looks or can a decent dev pick it up in a few days?

The API's etc are great although learning Objective C could be a bit of a hurdle.

Does it need to be an app or would it be just as good as a web app? Maybe look into something like JQuery Mobile or packaging a web app in a native wrapper using Phonegap.

Bear in mind this is fairly likely to cause your app to be rejected during the approval process. The developer guidelines state somewhere that if you app is basically just a mobile version of your website it will be rejected.

A Decent dev could do it in a few days no problem, but if you starting out with this as your first project it will take you a fair bit longer to get your head around the language etc.
