****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

The 3DS's are made in china i dont think its been effected by the recent events in Japan.

Also Ubisoft have finally released a trailer for their 3DS games.

I realise they're made in China but they were talking in another thread and on Sky about how the events will affect the price of computer components, the majority of which are also made in China iirc, oh and nice to see a damn trailer, even though the only game I'm interested in had about 4 seconds of "gameplay". :D

I pre-ordered the 3DS from a popular supermarket for £190 including any game, but afterwards I thought, I could buy a lot of PS3 games with that so I cancelled it!

I think I'll look at it again when there's more games out. From having a dabble on one in a popular music/dvd store I was pretty impressed with it though!

That's what's bugging me. I know that this won't see much use until some better games come out, but I'm using birthday money towards it so will be unlikely to afford it later on in the year.

It's either this and hope for some decent games soon, or the new PS3 I've been waiting to buy.

Apart from exclusives I think the PS3 would be a waste as you already have a 360, plus you've done the PS3 thing so unless there's heaps of new exclusives coming out in the next few months that interest you then I'd go with the 3DS. Plus I'm sure your mobile contract will be up at some point where you'll be able to negotiate maybe for a free PS3?

I was wondering about how difficult it would be to keep the 3DS still when gaming, so that I didn't lose the 3D effect. I had an hour or so on my PSP and it's ridiculously easy to keep a handheld still and in the same position, and that's with a PSP Go which is hardly the most ergonomic of devices so I imagine the scaremongering stories of the 3D effect being lost at anywhere from the "sweet spot" are a bit dramatic perhaps.

Had a go on one of these yesterday and was very impressed and am now thinking of picking one up on launch. There is obviously a sweet spot where the 3D effect is at it's best but I was able to move it around a lot without noticing significant loss, certainly not enough to be distracted.

I think it's a shame it's going to be region locked, it doesn't make any sense from the consumers side. It's a portable and should be able to go with you anywhere, including abroad but now I can't buy games when over in the US. Importing a Japanese model is about $400 and you could run into region problems when going online so probably not worth it.

Are there any reviews from Japan on the Ubisoft games? I just watched that launch video again and Splinter Cell is the only one I was interested in, but all we saw was about 2 seconds of a sniper scope and then someone turning night vision on. Doesn't bode well for the reports of low fps. :(

Driver looks fun but a bit arcadey from that vid, I hope they stick more along the lines of the first two Driver games. :)

Psypher5 sent the link to your trust.

Any one else looking for it, if you go to the video game section and select console bundles on the left you should see it.

The Tesco deal was better though.

Looks like a load of reviews have been released (from ONM).

Didn't review 2 games I was interested in though (Rayman and Lego Star Wars).
