Chris Moyles Longest Show

Speaking of breaking records, could there be something that we could do as a community to break a record? that could be an awsome OcUK project :)

Morba, I like big butts and I can not lie You other brothers can't deny That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist And a round thing in your face....

If you got junk in your trunk then you best have something up top to balance it out remember! None of this ass only curves :D

talking of fern, as shes on bbc2 now....
she looks attractive (facially), but i know that its mostly make up :(

fern is fit, moyles is a fat idiot and this stunt will only boost his own ego, I can go back to listening to radio one in the afternoons now that the fat idiot wont be on.

why he seems to draw so many of the masses by playing the same jingles and jokes/bits at the same time every single morning is beyond me

I can never understand the Moyles haters. You hate him so much but yet you must listen every day to know that he plays the same jingles & jokes like clockwork? Impressive considering they can't even get to the news at the same time every day! Not overly sure on the whole fat thing either, looking rather good these days compared to how he did. I hope Moyles doesn't vote Tory then I guess that would push you over the edge :p

Anyway! Didn't listen to it all but have been having a nose through the clips on the BBC website and some of them a brilliant compared to just hearing them. Half expected to wake up and find that they had not made it through the night, Dave in particular looked a mess when I went to bed. Massive credit to them both, 37 hours was impressive but 52 & the total was unbelievable!

I know it's impressive that Moyles and Dave raised this much money, and taking nothing away from that.

But Moyles surely earns more then that? Did he give a big chunk of money to charity to get it going?

Earns more than £2.4m?! Not even close!

Think his contract is nearer the 500k mark. And I imagine there are various people he'll have to pay out of that.

500k ish before the last renegotiation/extension that was at the time that they were making people take less pay.

That little? I'd have thought he was on a lot more then that :o

Wasn't Ross on something silly as well?

Did Moyles give anything to help this?

Also, who would he have to pay out of that? How'd you mean?

500k was the rumour.

Not even sure how much longer he'll be around, the paper is full of specification his current 1 year contract which is due up in september won't be renewed, and Greg James will replace him.

I'll be gutted if they do. Don't like the show nearly as much as Chris' show.

its not uncommon for contracted celebrities to have their salary paid to a company. They then receive payment from that company in such a way to dodge income tax. Somebody will have to administer this system who will want a small cut (but much less than the % income tax and N.I he would have to pay) and he has his agent to pay as well. No idea if his fees are separate or not.

I don't find him particularly funny when I've listened to his shows, I don't really think he's anything special. He's clearly popular so why wouldn't they renew him?

Where else would he go?

Radio 2 was rumored, but Chris commented he wouldn't do it as he doesn't think he would fit in.

Could they not move him to another slot?

I mean, it just seems that if Moyles is popular why not keep him? Or are the BBC after a shift of direction? 'cause surely Moyles is intelligent enough to understand that he would probably not be as successful without the BBC (re, see Adrian Chiles)

I imagine all Radio 1 DJs have thought that. And all Radio 1 listeners. Eventually, more or less most of the old Radio 1 line up seem to end up on Radio 2.

Ex Radio 1 listeners mumble that it's all changed and gone downhill, and Radio 2 has got much better. And so the cycle repeats.

Thats pretty much what they did with Sara Cox after her attempts to host the breakfast show failed miserably. But she now does 1 day a week on a weekend and thus is pretty far down the pecking order.

With Chris proclaiming himself the Saviour of Radio 1, i doubt he'd accept such a diminished role like Sara did.
