6990 4096MB

No.

The performance increase is not worth the extra cost and it will definitely be hotter and louder then your current setup.

Buy an SSD or a new monitor instead.

What they said ^^.

I waited for the 6990, and waited I did faithfully...wasn't pleased with the reviews(Hot, noise, cracking sounds) or the price when it showed up, so I got the 6950 (will be here on Monday) since I game at 1920X1080 it shall be just fine when unlocked to 6970 levels. Later on I may get another one when BF3 comes out and demands it.

Ok no it is then.

I was told these 6950 will be 15% better than two 5870s is that much.

What 6950 brand should I be looking for.

Overall it's a waste of money upgrading your graphics cards, you already have one the better set-ups you can get. As suggested, put the money towards something else in your rig.

I don't think anyone needs to tell you how much 15% is.

Surely you know a 15% increase in performance isn't worth the cost?

It's not costing me anything due to old stuff being sold that I'll never use again.

So is an upgrade still worth it just for popping to a shop and selling stuff.

Fair enough if you just fancy a change and it won't end up costing you anything. Though I don't see you noticing worlds of difference, however you should see better minimum and average frame rates and somewhat better xfire scaling.

I'm going to leave the upgrade after every one thinks it's a waste.

Thanks for the info as I know nothing about these things.
DX

is that an error saying 6.2 fps?

I think it's based on Crysis Warhead bottlenecking on the 1GB RAM 5870s, whereas the 6900s are 2GB so don't have the same issue. I get over twice the FPS there at 6050x1200, max in game settings, with 2 or 4AA (can't remember which) with my 2GB 5870.
