Hey all after being out of the loop I decided to build another pc im running windows 7 ultimate x64, after using a clean install I cannot get my sound cards to work ive tried 3 different cards but in my device manager there is no audio tab its not hidden either so I carnt even install the drivers im using a asus rampage extreme mobo ive also tried updating the chipset to no avail can anyone help

What about the onboard sound? Is it enabled in BIOS? If it is it could be blocking your dedicated soundcards. If it is not then whack it on and see if things change.

Also try a different pci/pci-e slot.

Thankyou for the reply Ive already tried bios and different slots still nothing, I think the no audio, video tab has something to do with it. Its as if the motherboard isnt detecting it what so ever but all of the cards light up when the comp is on when I try them individually

Which sound card do you have? It may require additional power connector plugged into it, if its not plugged in, then windows wont pick it up.

However you did say you tried 3 different ones, all 3 prolly dont need a power connector?
