***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

I see my Raven review tickled a few ribs. :D

No offence Raven matey, it's all in the name of fun. Maybe I'll see you in multiplayer after the game has had a "droppage in priceage". :p

So if my copy arrives today which it should do it was dispatched on Tuesday >.< Can i install it and play it or is it going to do a Homefront and due to Steam not let me as it isnt officially out?

I ask as i cant re-call if Crysis2 is using steamworks

No it won't be steamworks, but i don't think you will be able to play until midnight tonight, in north america they were locked out of the single player campaign until 10AM

The only thing that bothered me is i watched a live feed on justintv last night of a guy playing through the retail game, and he had to sign into his gamespy/mycrysis account before he could even play the campaign

Where the frack is my Crysis 2!

I'm away for the weekend from tomorrow onwards now so no gaming for me :(

is this DRM, so if the main server goes down you can't play SP campaign or is there an option to play offline?

I would assume that its a case of a 1 time sign in to authenticate it then its play as you please. Thats been the case with quite a few games recently but it would be my guess.

Waiting for the postman to bring me my copy.
Then later it will be time to hit the Hi-Res Screenshot thread.

That's correct. It uses Tages Solidshield limited activations. 5 simultaneous installs max. Even the Steam version uses it. It's a pity, otherwise I would have bought the Steam version just so I don't have to deal with that rubbish.

this is just plain tard, specially when people just want to get in the game and play, i expect that with eveyone trying to logg in and activate at the same time wil be problems, and everyone hitting the cryteck forums complaining about the stupid DRM

So true, it puts me off when I have to go online, install updates, find that software wants to check up on me.

I'm pleased I cancelled my pre order. Going to wait till it hits the bargain shelves.

You might not have to wait long. I bought Dead Space 2 for £13.99 a couple of weeks after launch and I'm hoping the same price drop will happen to Crysis 2.

You've got to be mad to buy at launch these days. You end up with all the hassles of zero day patches, activation issues and multiplayer server overload and have to pay top price for the privilege.
