I try to stick with cheap brown coloured shoes, they get covered in mud instantly anyway.

I have been seriously looking at the Nomad Carbon now, the looks are really growing on me.
Looked at the Tracer 2 as well, but i dont like a few things about it, shame its a nice frame otherwise.

You cant go far wrong with a carbon Nomad, there is no disputing it is an awesome bike! To be honest any of the ones you have been looking at would be a vast jump in build quality and performance over your fire-eye.

Its just not easy to try them all out, so im mainly going off reviews and customer feedback. From what everyone says about the carbon its brilliant if a bit expensive.

I was looking at the get together in scotland, seems a bit far, i doubt im fit enough to keep up with you lot though.

Cant make this years, but will come next year if you do it again.

Should have my new bike builts by then.
Im really unfit at the minute, too much time out of the saddle i let winter beat me, starting back out tomorrow morning, try get a good ride in once at weekend and do some smaller sprint type rides during the week.

woohoo - bike is built - got a call from on-one this morning.

Now just need to sort out delivery (they had it down as customer collection from 450 miles away!!).

I'm away all next week so will have to get it delivered to parent house i think. Should be sorted for a ride out next weekend!

Indeed, I like the shoes although I wouldn't buy 5.10s again for all mountain use (ALLLLL MOUNTAINNNN!) as they're a bit bulky.

That Tracer 2 looks nice, good photo although they need to lose the big ring :D The stanchions on those Zoccis look tiny too

On the subject of shoes,What shoes do you guys use with flats?....I currently use some Vans trainers but im finding them a little bulky and heavy.

Whats everyones choice of shoe for flats?

Five Ten Sam Hill. But if you think Vans are bulky, Five Ten Impacts probably aren't for you :D

They really don't look like that anymore :o:D

What are they like, comfort and grip wise on flats? Was thinking of getting some. Currently wearing normal trainers as I get numb feet in mountain bike shoes after 20 minutes.

They are really comfy like any other skate shoe, but you have to make sure you get a specific sole pattern as it gives better grip on the pins. I have these ones and you can see the grip allows the pins to sit in it.
