Who's joining the queue for iPad 2 on Friday then?

do you think by only having limited stock,and apple not having enough to supply demand,do you think this always works better for them in long run,like for advertising and publicity,by keeping people talking about there new tech.Like with iphone it seemed like they just slowly released the phones on limited stock so people kept talking about them and kept up the hype,rarther then people just walking in anytime after release and picking one up
 
Went into local branch of a major retailer which is named after an astronomical phenomenon.

They had sold there (tiny) allocation, but have ordered me one (earmarked) which should arrive on Tuesday. I wait with baited breath. According to the guy who served me it sounded like there were about 30 for sale in York altogether!

And i got mine by ...

Walking into my local argos store round the corner from work !!! no queues, no lines, no nothing. Just walked in, handed my money over, and walked out. They still had stock left in after i bought mine as well ! and there were was nobody else in store buying an ipad, they only had about 2 sold that day. So chuffed to have beaten the queues :D

Was it Clifton Moor that you went to? Argos still had some. I reserved one online. Which model were you after? Argos also had 20% off today.
 
Anyone know of any around the ne28 area?

Are people expecting stores to restock tomorrow or is that it?
 
Home now, all synced and working. I got the 64Gb version in black with a black leather smart cover. We arrived very early at the shop and were first there by a couple of hours. The time actually passed very quickly today up until about 15:00 and then it dragged. The staff were great, nicely chatty and helped the time pass.

Safari seems significantly quicker than the old iPad. I've not had a chance to do much else yet but I'm posting on it now. I'll leave it syncing my music overnight as I do the downconvert to 128 thing and that takes ages.

Nope definitely not a time traveller. I checked the site by adding all versions to my basket and it said both the 64gb wifi and 3G versions had a couple available each. Reserved a 64gb wifi and my fiancée picked it up just after 5pm. It is in an Argos box downstairs at the moment but I can't open it until my birthday. I might get the Argos box open tonight though just to make sure it is definitely right :)
