I was just looking at a youtube video for this cooler.
Aparently it weighs 1.2kgs now this is heavy. Assuming i fitted one to my LGA775 CPU would those tiny holes in the mobo where it mounts take the load without cracking or any other damage?

Your motherboard will be fine, the back plate takes the strain. The ram cooling is a bit of a gimmick though I think. Never needed to cool any ram yet, unless your over-volting it then I would get something else personally.

This.

Why do people get water cooled ram just buy some better stuff as you said. Now if it was best you could get and could clock way more with it the ye. There wise there s no point.

On topic.

Mobo will be fine it might even come with a clip to clip it to the top of the inside of your case to take the weight. Seen it on a old cooler that was a wopper

Make sure you have your motherboard firmly screwed down as well - as in every available mounting hole is filled, otherwise you'll put it under stress.

To be honest i only wondered about it. My Q9300 is on the stock cooler and there is no real need for me to change it as it is not OC'd and temps are fine.
I did try overclocking once but my limited knowledge of doing such things went wrong so that was abandoned.
