Earth Hour 2011 TONIGHT 20:30

People are so naive to think that this will actually help, will be funny to see if it will trend on twitter just to show how many people are trying to inflate their ego.
Deary me, so many better ways to save the world I don't know where to begin.

Leave them. They like feeling part of something. Will all be forgotten around 11pm and they'll continue to live as they've always lived.

You do realise that the result of global warming is a colder earth and possibly an "ice age".

I'm no expert in Co2 emmissions or global warming... however if the result was a cooler earth, why then is it called "global WARMING" and what is all this talk on the polar ice cap melting and killing polar bears?

I also read somewhere about the earth heating up bla bla... first I've ever heard of an ice age through global warming, seems ironic.

I'll start recycling my tins of beans when china stop building power plants every quarter mile.

Will never happen, we were doing the same 50-30 years ago. A developing country will do the same unless they have an alternative method.

I believe that he was trolling.

This Earth Hour really is a bit gimmicky. Why do these landmarks have to be illuminated anyways? Why not just turn on the lights for special occasions and the like.

At work tonight and as I am the engineer in control of the buildings lights I have been instructed to turn them all off so the building is seen to be doing its bit.

Its all a load of rubbish, as what about the ~3000 odd computers & ~6000 odd monitors that are left on in this building all night and all weekend :rolleyes

Earth Hour... It makes me sick.

The spiteful part of me just wants to turn on every light in the house to make up for a few house that turn all theirs off. Trouble is all the bulbs are energy savers... :(

Bah! Foiled again. :D

I never knew the Ocuk group were so against "green activities" like myself. Brilliant!

Not against 'green activities' per se as much as I'm against a pointless waste of time. Where idiots with no intention or modicum of a clue partake in said pointless activity to look good to other idiots. I mean, why else would be announce their intentions? As if anyone really cares.

But. As I said. If senselessness keeps them busy and babbling on Twitter, who are we to judge? Come 10pm and Earth Hour would be forgotten. Well, until next year's salvo of 'feel good'.

Always make me think of the Sean Lock joke where he talks about the americans consumption and how it means being "green" makes him feel like he has turned up to an earthquake with a dustpan and brush :)

I'm sat here in the dark now, I'm surprised I can even type well as the only light in my house is the computer monitor and that isn't bright enough to light up the keyboard.

What happens if I get eye damage from looking at the screen in the dark and they have to give me surgery therefore using more energy than I have just saved?

I hardly ever have lights on, So should I turn them on for once? :)

Go on. Just went for a slash and made coffee. Left both bathroom and kitchen lights on. Wouldn't say it was on purpose but for some reason I just don't feel motivated going downstairs and turning it off :)
