Hello,

I'm going in for an operation in mid-April and I could be off for a while and bordering on immobile. I need stuff to entertain me, so I'm going to stock up on books (or hijack my mum's Kindle) and get some cheap, hopefully long games.

Cheap's best... and here's stuff I like that would fit the bill if I hadn't played them already. Well these are games I found I could plough time into anyway. Apart from Alan Wake not being very long.

Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2
Arkham Asylum
Half Life 2
Dragon Age (I couldn't get into this but it might be time to give it another punt)
Red Faction: Guerilla
Alan Wake

COD and stuff... I've never played any of the Battlefield games since the original few... is Bad Company/Bad Company 2 good/long in single player?

So I suppose it's action/adventure/RPG games really. I'm open to anything but I don't go for sports games and racing games can't hold my attention for some reason these days. They used to though.

Any suggestions? New or old :)

Thanks

DA ultimate edition, ME2, and if you would give it a go Forza 3 ultimate edition

Fallout 3 (Game of the Year edition) and Fallout New Vegas will both easily take you 80+ hours each to finish.

Oblivion (Game of the Year edition) will take you close to 200 hours if you try and do everything in the game, all side quests etc.

If you like shooters, something like Call of Duty played online could easily grab you and keep hold of you for weeks.

Fable 2 is relatively cheap and will make time fly.

I'd recommend Fable 3 but it's still quite dear I think.

Red Dead Redemption, personally i love DA2, although im playing it on my pc, its the best game ive played in ages, very absorbing etc.

Sorry, forgot a load of stuff :/

Got Fallout and NV, although I may well run through again. Same with Oblivion, played it to death but could probably be persuaded to do it again, I've kept all three of those games, definite keepers.

Had Fable, didn't like it.

Done Red Dead as well. Pretty useless OP on my part!

Done GTAIV but did think about Saints Row 2... any opinions?

Dead Rising 2 though is a good bet, is it better than the first? I liked it a bit but wasn't 100% sure. Will see if I can pick it up cheap.

I never played Viva Pinata, bet it's cheap now, I'll put that on the list :D

Some good shouts though keep them coming, I'll look into Blue Dragon, haven't really played a JRPG since FFVIII but open to trying pretty much anything :)

Another vote for Viva Pinata - Loved the game, and kept me busy for hours and hours!

Umm probably pick up The orange box these days pretty cheap, Portal and HL will keep you going and always got some replay value :)
