Today I am sending out some job applications.
One possible new employer has an advert in the paper but is asking for a picture as well as the usual letter and CV.

I don't have a picture here, should I send the application without a photo, get a representable picture and send in the application or just bin the advert?

Sounds a bit odd.

If you still want to proceed though, I'd get a photo and send it with the application all in one go, not seperately.

Why do they need a pic ? I note your location, Are you entering the sex trade ?

Personally I'd refuse, its unprofessional and awkward. A lot of employers ask because they can't ask questions about how clean you are or ethnics . . .

Pretty much all the promo / rep jobs I've applied for in the past asked for a photo. Guess it's to save time on interviewing people who don't look suitable for the role.

The job is for a financial accountant which is why I found it a bit strange as it isn't a job where there is a lot of face to face contact with other people.

The annoying thing is that I have to find a suitable picture which is harder than it sounds as I don't have a lot of pictures of just me and the ones I have are from stuff like the WC football final party and isn't really suitable, lol.

But I guess I will do it, I have a different interview friday so I'll take a pic of me in a suit and send that.

I do however have a feeling that they chuck out all the applications of foreigners and peeps with tattoos and piercings but as I am Dutch and have no tattoos and piercings means I will go on the possible interview pile instead of the trash
