Plastic surgery / Cosmetic - would you change anything?

In case anyone is interested, here is how my teeth look after getting vaneers done.

Not a very flattering photo to be honest but you can see how white and perfectly straight they are. You get to choose the colour etc... I went for the darkest of the bleached shades, which to be honest is very white. You could have course go for the more natural tones but I kind of like the 'almost' too perfect look. I never used to smile in photos even though they weren't particularly bad. I was just very self conscious before. Now i'm like Mr. Ed :p

My teeth could do with being a little whiter and the bottom ones straighter, my skin is a bit crap aswell.

I am not that bothered about it as I can't see the bottom ones anyway but perhaps braces or veneers if I run into some cash or just the hygeinist or whitening will do.

other than that my nose is a bit big but not bad. I wouldn't dare risk a nose job.

Either way I will probably go bald which will make all this stuff seem like a small problem.

I should really just start eating healther and going to the gym, more sleeep qnd stop smoking and drnking so much coffee. :p

My teeth aren't great, however not sure I'd want to go through the process of having it done particularly.

Got sticky outy ears as well but tbh they don't bother me yet seem to be amusing to some people, cretins :p

My mum had veneers done last year, at a cost of £750 a tooth definitely not cheap!!

My dentist told me to think about braces and reckons it will cost about 100pm to have them for about 18 month.

I think I might actually go ahead with it now that Ive wrote this thread. Im pretty concious about my teeth and I dont like my vampire fang type teeth that I currently have. :(

lipo and teeth being whitened (no need for anything else yet, 32 and still no fillings or anything due to decay), thats about it really.

This is probably the only thing I'd have done, however I can't help but see:

i wish i had braces when i was offered. my teeth are fine but 2 are slightly out of place/proud.

the nose has been broken a few times aswell so maybe get that fix too :/

How much do nose jobs cost? Im guessing thousands.

Looks like a nasty procedure seeing them chipping away at it, eww.

Getting braces at 26-27 is asking for a serious ribbing at work though lol

I spent about £3000 on ceramic braces last year. Totally worth it. No one mocked me for it, which was suprising. I was ready for a reaming.

I've got a scar running through my eyebrow which I'm thinking of getting fixed.

Does laser eye surgery count? My eyes suck, wearing extended wear contacts, which is great but I'm contemplating laser soon.

There's always invisalign if the problem isn't too bad. No one would notice then. Or of course vaneers if you have the money to spare.

With veneers would my teeth not have to be straight in the first place for them to attach onto? I have quite pronounced "fangs"

No, they shave your teeth down. On some teeth they just take off a little enamel on others that are more protruding they take off more material. Then take a mold and professionally build porcelein caps to make them look perfectly straight... Then stick them on! :)

Do you lose sensation when chewing etc?

If you get what I mean. Does it feel odd eating ?

Not at all as you have no feeling in your teeth whatsoever anyway. All nerves are kept intact as they don't shave down anywhere near that far and don't need to. Some pretty dramatic occlusions can be remedied, in fact pretty much anything.

No.

There are things about me that are far from perfect but that's what makes me, er, me.

It's vanity pure and simple and a fool and his money are easily parted.

Of course cometic surgery to correct medical problems (disfigurement, corrective surgery et al) is not a problem by me.
