Steam cleaners?

So I'm moving into a new house soon and I reckon I should go over the place with a steam cleaner before I move everything in.

Anyone have any experience with steam cleaners? Where's the best place to rent one from, anything I should look out for?

I got one that does hard surfaces not so long ago, but borrowed an expensive carpet cleaner. It's the carpets that hold smells of other people and dirt that you can't see. The combi ones just aren't up to the task.

Carpet cleaner for sure - hire an industrial one and you can take your time rather than hire a guy to do it and you have to pay them by the hour.

Yeah, why? We haven't booked it yet so if it's terrible say now :p.

Haha nah, I'm just as much in the dark if not more. Just wondering, because it seems to be the only carpet cleaner you can rent from everything I've looked at so far, and has been the only one mentioned by name yet. Let us know how it goes!

this thread is hilarious. you got talk to carpet cleaners and they'll all say don't use rug doctors (and for good reasons) hire a professional and get it done right. then they'll go hire someone to make a website for £30.00 or use cheap template websites. then you come on here, talk to web designers (i know perhaps not many on here but enough with experience in it) and they'll advise to use a pro rather then paying cheap, but then all recommend to use a rug doctor.

if you can afford it get a pro in. no point in paying to get something done and either make it worse or only do a half decent job. rug doctors are absolutely terrible, i cannot believe how many people use them and see them as just as good as something a professional would use, only cheaper as you aren't paying for their time.

if you try a professional cleaner i can give advise as to what to look for.

a good domestic steam cleaner to use around the house the below is a good one but still wont make the place spotlessly clean and smell brand new.
