Right, had my current Remmingtons about 5yrs now and I think they need replacing.

I'm after a set of clippers that allows adjustment between grades, instead of just 1, 2, 3 etc. Grade 1 (3mm) is too short for me, but Grade 2 (7mm) is a little long - I like my hair somewhere in the middle (sounds picky I know...) I currently use Grade 1 and it looks best about 4/5 days after I've shaved it.

Can you get clippers that adjust in the same was the Babyliss i-Stubble does?

You must shave your head a lot!

Philips QC5130 Hair Clipper With Adjustable Comb, available from a certain rainforest...

Ninja edit: my LMGTFY link failed. :(

I've got some Wahl Super Tapers, these have a lever on the side so you can adjust the cut length.
I think most clippers have this feature tbh, when I was looking at buying clippers these got about the best reviews.

+1,

I have some cheap babyliss clippers from about 3 years ago and even they have this lever.

(Dont get babyliss though, mine get jammed easily.

Wow, you've actually made a a thread that makes shaving a head sound poncey.

Just buzz it off jeez.

I've a cheap £15 pair from Argos, comes with all the grades and a 3 position lever to adjust the actual size of each one.

Once you buy these badboys, you won't be wanting another one for a very long time.

Downside is you'll have to buy comb attachments, but i don't bother as i shave down to the bone :p

I've got a set of Wahl clippers which seem to let you adjust the depth of cut, I've got to admit though I've got no idea if it'll do 4.5mm or whatever is you need. :p

And unfortunately they seem to have stopped selling that precise model but this in Argos is probably the closest available now.

I have the 'Remington HC710'.

Comes with guards from 3mm up to 18mm I think.

You can also adjust the blades from 0.8 to 2.0mm in 5 increments along with the attached guard.

First result on google (jungle) around £30 and the best pair of clippers I've owned. Can't fault them. I use them without a guard to shave my stubble and it's miles better than the i-trim I also have which was a pile of **** if I'm honest.

Have had these for 2/3 years now and they're still sharp & hold charge fine.

I had an argos value set that I killed when I shaved off my long hair... perhaps I should have used scissors first? :o

I now have a wahl set (from the laminated book of dreams), cost about 15 quid and has guards up to 25mm, plus the lever thingy. Comparing the quality of the wahl against the value range, I fully expect the wahl to last for years and years.
