Ages ago I bought a Win 7 32bit OEM version from Ocuk, despite having 4GB of RAM (:/)

Is there any way I could upgrade to 64bit using my 32bit CD Key ? Or do I have to buy a completely new copy ?

yeah you can, im doing it now, but my version of 7 lets me choose which version i want to install, i put the disc in my pc, then after it copied the temp files, i could select which version to install, 86bit or 64bit, try yours, it might have a selection for you too :P

Your key can be used for both 32 and 64bit operating system, all you need to do is get hold of the optical media, I think you might be able buy replacement optical media direct from Microsoft, check the sticky in the software section.

86 bit Windows

Wants.

Microsoft do in fact provide downloads for all flavours of Windows 7 from their own servers. I won't post links here though for fear of someone saying '0mGz ISOs R ILLEGAL BANHAMMER!!!11oneone1' but they're a google away.

And if you have a legitimate key for Windows you're well within your right to download and use it.

Upgrading to 64 bit isn't a straighforward process. From Microsoft:

If you want to move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or vice versa, you'll need to back up your files and choose the Custom option during Windows 7 installation. Then, you'll need to restore your files and reinstall your programs.

The copy ive got is OEM 32 bit though, can I still upgrade ?

and I looked all over Microsoft sites, cant find anything relevant. Could anyone PM me how do I go about with upgrading ?
