New banner?

My wife doesn't batt an eyelid at a pretty girl on my monitor (or worse) but she just leaned over when I had a picture of a NAS drive I'm thinking of buying and proceeded to start moaning.

:D You and me both, my Wife couldn't care less if my wallpaper is of some hot chick, but when I start looking at PC components, AV equipment and gadgets she starts getting twitchy.

The wife gets nervous every time I'm on the Apple site. She is not bothered about my desktop background - it's a picture of my cat! :p

A girl is a short dress is hardly porn is it?

Jesus you people must not go out for fear of seeing females wearing dresses. Lol even typing it sounds ridiculous.

Sometimes I really question if some of you ever go out.

The other week I was sitting in the Oxford Services when about 6 girls came walking through all with just pink bikini's on, this was a public place full of families and no one seemed particulary bothered that 6 stunning girls were in the place. All I can say it was a pleasure seeing such attractive and bloody fit girls. There is a saying, if you've got it flaunt it.

Also I'd like to add this banner in particular is designed and owned by Gigabyte who have a large worldwide marketing team who you'd assume know what they are doing as this banner is on websites worldwide, so if its acceptable to them it is to ourselves.

Also no work/boss is going to moan about such banner, your boss is more likely to moan about the fact your doing your shopping/buying on his/her time when you should be working.

The monitor section of the website, some of the more appealing images will be ammended to ones that are more pleasing to all. :)

What this thread needs now is more photoshops of that motherboard in unlikely situations. (within the family friendly rules of course ;) )

Some of us enjoy looking at beautiful women regardless of the situation. Having an attractive girl holding your product (;)) is good marketing and frankly I can't see that the Gigabyte banner is in any way offensive or degrading at all.

Carry on with the lovely ladies, not all of us are weirdos...

Now, where is Oxford Services...;)

Hold on a second here, its just ONE person who doesn't go out, everyone else has called him a weirdo :p

Also, lolsuspended :D

Insulting the owner of the foum and company. Not a smart move.

A little tongue in cheek but surly not an insult?

I've got no problems with seeing women in dresses. ;) What I don't get is that Gigabtytes "marketing" team can come up with something better than the tired old "pretty lady with computer gear" forumula.

I suppose when push comes to shove performance hardware is aimed at geeks/nerds and they don't see that many pretty women in real life. Do pretty women like guys with cutting edge motherboards? Nah...
:D

The thing is most of the target audience in this sector is male. So its about how to stop those males in their tracts and get them looking at your product. In the following order it tends to be:-

1. Hot girl
2. Average girl
3. Fast car
4. Gaming scene
5. Film scene
6. Landscape image.

As you can see if you want maximum click through or to get the target audience attention the hot female wins hands down.

Also its just a UK thing where UK people seem scared or think its wrong to see a hot women. Anyone who has been or lives abroad will know hot women are used a lot more and its also a far more common site especially in countries with warmer climates to have a far higher percentage of hot attractive women and as such its seen as the norm. Some of the TV adverts in Europe are not allowed to be aired in the UK, but why?

"Getting this motherboard spiced up my sex life by a factor of ten! The chicks love stroking my southbridge!"

Incidentally, i'm back baby! Would have been sooner but i was switching ISP from Virgin to O2, Virgin switched off early so we were left up the creek without a paddle... or a boat. On the plus side it's almost ten times faster now, just need a half decent PC and i can be a proper tech enthusiast. Oh wait, nobody cares.
