2gb 6950 crossfire benching

x2912 in 3dmark 2011 - 1920x1200 full test

does that sound about right? got an i7 920 @ stock and 12gb ram

Not unlocked or overclocked the cards (yet :p)

Don't really understand what I need to do to overclock it and it be stable. Last time I messed about with bios stuff was with old athlons, would certainly give it a go if anyone can advise? :)

With such a pair of cards at stock what game can you not run smoothly? I see no point to crank it up further. If you need to benchmark, why not go for the 580 lightning's or 6970 lightning's for 4-way SLI/CF? :)

Was only benchmarking as its the first time ive done CF and wanted to know if it was running as it should be. Not going to flash the cards unless I run into a reason to need to.

Interested in overclocking the i7 though, just have no idea how to, new settings are bit of a mystery to me

Free performance! Dual-BIOS chip so nothing can go wrong :D

And yea, MSI Afterburner can do load/temps on-screen.
Settings > Monitoring tab > Find the ones you want and tick Show in On-Screen Display.

(Keep in mind theres a slight overhead for rendering it on-screen.)

But the power supply for vram is not so strong as real 6970s, and if you are not careful with the vram clock/voltage you could reduce the longevity significantly. Also you risk getting caught by the 99% bug
