Streets of Rage Remake is a project created from scratch, it does not use reverse engineering nor a single line of code from the original games.
It's not even the original code with 8years in the making!
Unless sega are happy for it to continue and they've got links to that on the site.
It's based on the old game though, including the story, the level design and much more.

This game is an unofficial remake and is not affiliated with Sega (who know of it’s existence through a formal letter).
Yes, they contacted SEGA about legal matters
I would like to say that we did actually contact Sega last year through an e-mail message regarding the use of copyrighted material, to which they answered asking us to send a formal letter to their legal department, so that's what we did.
We accepted the ESA policies regarding the DMCA as well, otherwise this website would not exist anymore.
Emulator Discussion which i've agreed to, no more emulator discussion but now Remakes are a grey area!. Can the person who came up with these rules step forward so we can discuss it as i feel more and more hardline rules are being enforced which don't need to be

Wait, it was locked for being a remake? Does this mean we cannot discuss the Half-Life remake that still hasn't been finished?
This would be a bit silly if is the case.
It's Dark_Angel who locks it, he jumps the gun way to fast!
Great mod but needs to step back a little![]()
