Streets of Rage Remake locked?

Streets of Rage Remake is a project created from scratch, it does not use reverse engineering nor a single line of code from the original games.

It's not even the original code with 8years in the making!

It's based on the old game though, including the story, the level design and much more.

Unless sega are happy for it to continue and they've got links to that on the site.

The guy even wrote to SEGA and has been given permission with this project. All this legal stuff has been asked numerous times and is all above board.

Whoever locked it should have taken 2 minutes to check them self.

7- Did Bombergames contact SEGA about this remake?

Yes, they contacted SEGA about legal matters

I would like to say that we did actually contact Sega last year through an e-mail message regarding the use of copyrighted material, to which they answered asking us to send a formal letter to their legal department, so that's what we did.
We accepted the ESA policies regarding the DMCA as well, otherwise this website would not exist anymore.

Hmm, I'll bring it up with the moderator team.

Because of the no emu discussion thing we're just looking through any suspect threads ATM.

*EDIT*

Neil, making 3 or so posts in a row isn't needed. Please edit your first post. Calm down and discuss things calmly.

*edit 2* I was on the phone at the time of writing that, so forgive the stupid sentence! :p

Emulator Discussion which i've agreed to, no more emulator discussion but now Remakes are a grey area!. I'm going to have to be careful what i post in future regarding any games :(

There is no reason to lock the thread, unlock it.

Edit:
Just seen post above.

Rant over.

Thanks :)

Can this thread be deleted? - lol

It's Dark_Angel who locks it, he jumps the gun way to fast!

Great mod but needs to step back a little :D

I came up with the rules.

In there I'd written that unless the games have permission from the original developers, in which case fan remakes are fine. Since this does (it didn't when I'd last checked it out) I've notified moderators.

Wait, it was locked for being a remake? Does this mean we cannot discuss the Half-Life remake that still hasn't been finished?

This would be a bit silly if is the case.

I can't lock threads, I'm an UB.

I simply report things and go from there, occasionally I'm willing to admit mistakes will slip through and we can't catch everything. I appreciate projects like this as much as anyone, and in future if you can link the permissions page it'd be far easier.
