Do advertisements not need to actually represent the truth of their claims?

Children eating meat is obviously not child abuse so PETA should be forced to remove the advertisement.

Also do not some paediatricians and nutritionists say that feeding children a strictly vegetarian diet actually unhealthy for the child, and if so would that not mean that PETA are advocating child abuse themselves.

I'm a vegetarian and when I have kids they will have meat until they are old enough to make their own decision about eating meat. I personally think a vegetarian diet for a child is bad.

Historically as a society we eat far far more meat now than we ever did before, and people died a lot less from heart disease in the past as well. Although to be fair they were too busy dying from starvation and other hungry associated illnesses to die from being fat.

I don't want to come across all holier than thou vegetarian (well, semi vegetarian, I eat meat if it's delicious) but most people eat much too much meat than is needed for a healthy diet and therefore also eat a lot of fat. By vastly cutting down the amount of meat I ate and thus enjoying it more when I do have some I've found I lost a lot of weight and felt a lot healthier.

So although Peta are annoying attention seeking idiots, they sort of have a point even if it has been twisted to suit their tree hugging ideals
