My parents had several thousand pounds of damage done to a 3 day old car in the one above (although Woodbridge is in suffolk, not norfolk). Hailstones around the size of golfballs and flooding...

I was in Yarmouth at the time. I would have been 4 that September so 3 at the time, but i remember that vividly. We were in a chalet and the noise on the roof and the windows was like incredible.
 
Someone I know in America used to talk about these and say that's it not uncommon.
In these storms he'd just put on a motorcycle crash helmet for a walk to the local shops.
