Bought another old BMW.

A great car and once again true to your reputation it looks to be in a very good condition throughout.

Did you get my email the other day? No worries if you've been too busy to reply. :)

Not my choice in colour, but a stonking motor - congrats :D

Saying that, white shows up even the smallest defects, from the pics that looks in great condition, I think I only saw a slight mark on the inside lip of one of the rear arches (dirt?).

Always wanted one of these (dad had a 535i sport years back) but I don't want the risk that comes with the better looking (imo) 3.8 version.

Looking forward to picks after you polish it up and a writeup.

ps I never noticed the continuity errors in Ronin until just now - but all I saw was the shot of the lattice alloy wheel when DeNiro shoots the tyre.

That a lovely car there......would not say no ;-)

Not a fan of these by any stretch of the imagination, but that induction system made my knees go all wobbly :D

Mmmm that does look nice and I love the period wheels!

Nerdy question - several years ago, a mate had an old M535i (pretend M5). He harped on about its dogleg gearbox a fair bit, so I was surprised to see yours has the conventional pattern. Is it not supposed to have a dogleg box? Perhaps mate's old M535i was the previous gen - can't quite remember?

Lovely though - would be interested to know how much it set you back. Are there many more like that, or was that a hard search?

Cheers

Sounds like an e12 or e28.

Afaik,No M5 has/had the dog leg box. :)

Tesla - I'll reply in due course, been rather busy!

Rare, wheels will be staying, of course! :D

Johnny, know what you mean - I wasn't out to buy something like this but came across it and I just clicked with it. Just such a well engineered car and that engine's awesome. I could just look at it all day long :D

Looking forward to going through it this weekend with a fine tooth comb, as well as taking it down the local BMW dealer to get the original spec sheet and a backup copy of the service history.

I think it cost about £44,000 - in 1991. Eeep!

Spent some time today trying to sort out the best mic and shield arrangement for my camera. Getting there, but there's still some way to go Only a low-res upload, and the camera angles weren't set up - I'm purely working on the sound at the moment - but this'll give you some idea.

I think you know when you've got a car that you love driving when you don't feel the need to turn the stereo on - even if you're cruising. Did 100 miles this weekend and didn't even touch that dial.
