Anyone else feel freaked out when going into an apple store?

A lot of Apple users aren't like that, and a lot are.

I like that you called them 'fans' and not users though. If someone buys an Apple product they are a 'fan' and not a user? Is that so?

You undermine your entire argument by saying silly things like that.

Fans and users aren't the same thing. I am an Apple user myself, but I can't stand their ethos and attitude.

Someone should go and spec a Sony laptop with similar specs to a similarly priced MacBook Pro and see how close they come in terms of hardware and price. You won't get the same build quality from a Dell or a cheap ass Acer.

My only real issue with Apple stores is that in my experience whilst they're very good at dealing with people who are less than sure about what they want, they're awful at dealing with people who do.

Walked in, finally found a salesman who wasn't demonstrating toys to bubbling hipster kids and asked him for a 15" MBP + High-Res Screen + Applecare + Sleeve. Cue "Why do you need a high res screen/do you want to book a session at our lecture hall/do you know how to turn it on/etc". Finally found out you need to have 15" MBP w/high res screens custom ordered (After 20 minutes) and just wanted to scream at him to take my money and give me my goods.

no different to any other high street retail shop in that regard

i bet the dell guy in the indian call centre or the sony guy in the sony centre who spent all his training learning how to sell 3d TVs would have the same issues

All the Apple bashing/fanboying/fighting aside, every time i've walked into the Apple Store (Bentalls Centre Kingston), I become overwhelmed by the apparent smell of B.O and sudden increased humidity. It's horrible and makes me feel sick.

I love the Apple store, great experience and they make an effort, fair enough with the aim of getting you to spend money behind it, to actually make you feel welcome

But then some might say I'm biased

Good idea. No-one's ever done that before.

I love apple products and own a lot of them but I agree the stores are kinda weird, even the reseller in town as we don't have our own store (been to the birmingham and london ones though)

Some of the people that like apple products are funny and pretentious too, some of them seem to think that the products are completely different to other products and the materials to make them come from the moon or something. Of course you get people like this for most products or similar, just seem more obvious with apple gear.
