I'm looking to replace my old pc and have about £1100 to spend.

I'm having difficulty deciding on what motherboard I need and what ram would be suitible for the motherboard.

I will be overclocking the CPU to about 4ghz.
Here is what I currently have chosen.

XFX ATI Radeon 6950 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card x2

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - OEM

Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-15000C9 1866MHz Dual Channel Kit

Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 850W V2 High Performance Power Supply

Crucial RealSSD C300 64GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive

MSI P67A-GD55 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge)

I dont need keyboard/mouse/OS/monitor/soundcard however I might need a case.

Thanks for the help

Am I right in saying triple channel ram is limited only to none sandybridge CPU's (or just the motherboards dont support it yet)

I've also read the performance diff between duel and triple is very very minimal so thats fine.

Triple channel is used for the i7 9xx range of cpus which have triple channel memory controllers.

Was originally going for an I7 (non SB) but after looking at the overclocking ability of the 2500k and its good price I decided I would get better results from it. (was looking at i7 970 but I dont often run programs that would benifit from 6 cores)

I am also struggling on what ram I need + mobo I want atleast 8gb (future proof) anything more is excessive but I am also wanting the fastest ram I can get which fits a SB motherboard.

the P67A only supports : "4x DIMMs with support for DDR3 1133/1066 up to 16GB MAX"

I am looking at : Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-15000C9 1866MHz Dual Channel Kit (I am aware that this Ram is large and would have difficulty fitting a new cooler.
