Show off your Jap cars!

Looks good recognise it from Toyota OC, mines on the 4th or 5th page. Its also had an issue with a sticking caliper, if it sticks again i'll replace it

Mine's been sort of sticking for the last month or so. Took it to a garage and they reckoned it was actually the handbrake, shoes adjusted and away I went. Seemed ok for about a week then came back, decided to just get the caliper changed. So far so good, hope its ok!

Really desperate to get it lowered in time for Japfest but don't know anyone handy with a spanner and don't fancy paying more for labour than springs!

Here is my current and first jap car:

Kind of boring as its just a bog standard new car, but its fun to drive. Will be sad to see it go.

Photoshop :p. It desperately needs lowering but I can't bring myself to pay for the 3 hours labour everywhere seems to want

Drive to me, and if you've got the parts (lowering springs or coilover setup) I'll do it for an hours labour at a weekend!

Scoobdoo69's impreza is my 2nd fave (excluding awesome things like the Gobstopper, which is a track car). My mate Ben has my fave road set-up one!

Not a fan of the dishes :o

looks great though - very little clearance? Must make passengers/actual use for shopping etc difficult :p

Keep dropping hints to my Dad about these - think it's beginning to work!

What was the performance on this in the end?

I know a stock STI (yes, yours isn't I know :p) was as fast as an Impreza STI 0-62.

I can't be sure but Litchfields remapped FSti with 300bhp is quoted at 0-60 5 secs so around that maybe a bit less I would have thought. if I was to do it again that's what I'd get rather than trying to build my own one !

That looks fantastic. You see, that is what is meant by 'stance'. The wheels sit sooo nicely in the arches
Kinda spoilts the point of an Impreza though if you only have 1mm of arch clearance!

I think it would look better riding a little higher tbh.

Edit -- Nice wheels though papercutout, what's the spec on them? Look like quite a low offset :)

I'm sorry but thats sacrilege to me right there. Wanging massive alloys on it and dropping the bitch to the floor just dictates to me everything you shouldn't do to a Scoob/Evo.

Don't know about Scoobs but with Evo's any increase in alloy size compromises handling considerably which sort of defeats the point to me.

Sod "stance" - hate the word. Can't stand mods that compromise in anything but reliability :p

In a lot of ways I agree, and it's not the road I'd go down with an Impreza or Evo, but damn it looks good

I agree that the word 'stance' is over-used and used in silly contexts like 'it's been stanced' and 'it's got stance y0', but it is the right word to use when a car sits just right, when the wheels sit in the arches perfectly. It's just one of those words that has been taken and over-used to describe anything that has been slammed on low-offset wheels.

I probably agree - like many terms ruined by nobbers trying to run -90 degree camber on 155 tyres :p

Again I'm probably being a defensive tart as I own one but I just think certain cars shouldn't be touched in this way.

Old pics now, but still the best ones i have.

Still think the RX7 is one of the most timelessly beautiful cars ever made. It literally breaks the temporal rules for how good it still looks for a near 20 year old design.

I will have one at some point as long as I fit, probably as a project car I can tinker with.

If that were true then why are all the serious time attack subarus and evos running very low on great big wheels? ;)
