Do you tidy your rubbish at KFC/McD's/BK?

They actually charge you more for eating in IIRC, so other than using their tables and chairs, what other service are you paying for? Them cleaning up after you is the answer.

I don't recall ever being charged more to eat-in at a fast food restaurant, only at coffee shops or similar.

I don't think it makes any difference at all for price any more?

It used to, for VAT purposes IIRC.

I see it quite a lot. I think some people in the world, in some weird way consider it to be "beneathe" them. Afterall, why wouldn't you put your own stuff away?

They don't not do it to give the minimum wage McDonalds employee a sense of self worth, they don't not do it because they have some crippling disability - as far as i can deduce, it is because they feel it is beneath them.

Just my musings anyway.

Personal attack? For suggesting someone has a privileged upbringing? Madness. Poor Lysander.

Mmmm, talk about using a technicality to ban someone who has disagreed with you :/ i thought Lysander was a decent poster. Oh well, we'll just have to stick with threads like "why is insurance on fast cars more?" or "if you stabbed someone in a vaccuum, would their blood be blue" that the less experienced posters start

EDIT: Roger that Gilly.

Back on topic please guys. This isn't the place to discuss it.

If you have a problem with anything please discuss it with a mod off the forums.

the average person who eats at mc donalds / KFC on a regular basis is either dumb or doesnt care about their own personal health (why else would you eat there), i doubt either of these types of people care about cleaning up after themselves in such a place.

i know someone who is dumb and used to eat at mc donalds all the time, after watching super size me, he switched to KFC

I know of several people who eat more calories just from fast food than you eat in total and are in every single way more healthy than you.

Way to make random generalisations, You might as well say that the average Muslim is a terrorist.

I worked at MD for a VERY short time when I was in 6th form (I hated MD and left for Tesco as soon as I could!).

I have always cleaned up after my meal before I worked there and will always do so.

Having to clear tables because other people don't care is a bit of a sorry state imo.

I imagine the majority of OCUK clear up after themselves.

The same goes for people in a University house, I didn't ask for it to be pristine but I would just want some level of cleanliness (I lived with 2 lazy WoW addicts who couldn't even drive and saw my car as a free taxi).

I cant speak for anyone else, but I wouldnt feel comfertable leaving my table dirty. Its not the way I was brought up.

Its not a capital offence to leave stuff on your table, but its just nicer and more considerate to clean up after yourself.

Kind of not related but In the one time I dared tackle a Mcdonalds so called meal, I found it quite strange that they really push the enviromental aspect with recycling logos on all the packaging, but they don't actually seem to recycle anything, it all goes in the one bin and then that is empited into a big bin outside.. Surely they must recycle ?

I did not get a chance to empty the tray as the employee did it for me whilst I was sorting the kids out. but I would have done as it takes no effort and makes someones life a bit easier.

If everyone was super clean and emptied their trays etc, the 'poor cleaners' would be out of a job :)

More often than not you'll find that there is no-one employed to clean the dining area. The managers will just pick on someone assigned another role for the day when it becomes a problem.

I generally clean away my rubbish as that is how I've been brought up...however, I do agree that there is nothing wrong with leaving your rubbish.

What would people do if they didn't provide bins? I highly doubt that you would go up to the counter and give it to the person there...you'd leave it to be clean up by staff, because that is there job and they are getting paid for it.

I work weekends at a local supermarket and part of my job is to 'face up' the shelves, ie make them look nice. If you liken that to a cleaner at Mcdonalds, If customers ruin my facing up by taking a few products, I don't expect them to make it look nice themselves, its my job to do that!

On my next visit, due to the pressure here im going to empty my tray, and see if it improves my already sunny disposition and those of the McDonalds workers around me!

Businesses don't look at it that way. The cleaners for the lobby are there to clean (tables, bins, toilets etc) and clearing rubbish off the tables means that they don't have time to do other jobs properly. If more cleaners were imployed at McDonalds I would expect the price of a meal to go up slightly.

On a different note, why isn't the drive through a touch cheaper?
You don't use use the dining area at all.

I used to go to school with the now manager of our local McDonalds and he said they do employ someone to clean outside and inside, its not a particularly busy one either.

I'm sure if its packed and the cleaner is busy a 'normal' member of staff may help out but I still dont see a big problem.

That said, I do put my rubbish in the bin anyway but I wouldn't look down on someone because they dont.

Fair enough, BK never used to. Not even on a Saturday when it was rammed.

I imagine that'll be on a case-by-case basis depending on whether the manager feels it is worth it.

What amazes me is the state of the car parks very late on at the all night ones due to ***** chavs dumping stuff out of their car doors
