Getting Ready For A Mega LAN Night

Looks fun haha, wish I had mates who were interested in PC gaming, they're all into their PS3's and 360's!

So does everyone bring their computers/monitors and go to someones house and connect to the home network and just play eachother at games? I've never done it before :p

Yer pretty much, a lot of people say just do it over the net but its a lot more fun doing it round someones house, lots of banter :)

In the same boat as you, only can get 3 other people round to play as my other friends have consoles.

Ah right, sounds fun! Would love to play some mates at BC2 or Black Ops!

Although we're playing poker tonight but that's nowhere near as fun as this sounds

Literally none of my friends are into PC gaming and all have laptops, they constantly think console games are better but whenever I show them Crysis 2 or BC2 on the PC they're like "holy **** thats so realistic!".

Can't blame them though, PC gaming is quite expensive and I doubt they have the patience or money to build a gaming PC ect

Yeah, you cant beat a good old LAN night, get the food in and just spend the night playing. Good lols

Got a Lan too go to myself on the 29th april In Bury, just out side Manchester Friday night till sunday lunch in a local community center, Lots of gaming and as little sleep as you can get away with.

Been going to Lans since 1999, it's proper good laugh, loads of banter, abuse across the room, nice friendly competitive tournys and of course top food like Dominoes or Subways as the OP nicely pointed out :)

Added bonus with this location there's a good pub 50 meters down the road for when the RSI kicks in and you need to rest your mouse hand

Ahh the pub sounds like a good idea, hope you have fun, and i agree with what you said 'proper good laugh, loads of banter, abuse across the room, nice friendly competitive tournys'

I thought the same too, although I guess it would be alright if they're a regular customer of that takeaway.

OP - no beers?
Nope not this time, but was still an alright night, maybe next time, and yes, the school is regular for different things (Departments and stuff order)

Going to another one, we have been offered to do the same thing again this Tuesday :) :)

You clearly have the wrong friends then. My 'friends' that would laugh i couldnt care less about

No, I have the right friends. They just have no interest in computers. We have a lot of other things in common - Just not that. We do not need computers as an excuse to get together and have a laugh, and I'm thankful that my social life doesn't involve them in the slightest. That being said, it would be fun every now and then I imagine - Hence happy and sad.

instead of London pub meet up we should have a London LAN party meet up :D , bet more ppl would show up haha, we'd have one of those Sweden style LAN parties
