Hai guys,

Right, the neighbours cats seem to think its their god given right to waltz in and out of our place as they see fit :p

Now I don't mind cats, problem is they have been lucky that the 2 dogs have been out each time they've visited...its actually annoying, I want the patio doors open but the poxy things will run straight in :(

So, to stop the inevitability of coming home to find cat gibbage all over the walls what do ocuk suggest?

I think I read on here about something which costs £30 and emits an ultrasonic sound wave which the cats hate and make them stay away if thats right? if this is the case we'll fit one indoors and one in the garden.

Cheers all,
Jake

Get one of the plastic guns that fire little plastic ball pellets. Won't kill the cat and you can have fun at the same time doing target practice. Should teach it to stay off your land.

Tell me about it mate, I have exactly the same problem. I have my own cat so have a cat flap, the next door cats just waltz in and eat all Steves food (my cat) and then bugger off. I never know whether Steve has eaten or not.:(

The trick with nuisance cats is to scare them whenever you see them, make a loud shocking noise and stamp your feet whevever they come near your house. Gradually they will stay away. Also throwing water on them once or twice will make them run a mile. Don't hurt the cats, but don't be afraid to be a little mean to them, otherwise cats really will take the ****.

I can only assume the old woman who lived here before used to feed them etc, they seem to know their way around the place :/

STOP! It is all marketing BS. My neighbours have two of these in their garden (one front one back) and i can tell you two things: 1 - They don't work the cats still wander around their garden (not in ours due to two dogs). 2 - Most people under the age of about 50 can hear them, my 75yo grandparents can hear them and it is really ******* annoying. Particularly if they are out gardening then ity is screeching all day. Putting one in your house would drive you mad :p

Solution - repeatedly scare / throw water / chased by big dog

Just kill them to death. Deny the opportunity of a second visit.

Kick them up the arse when they come in. That would stop them.

If your dogs are in, and the cats come round, try putting them on a lead and then lead them to where the cats are. It will give the cats a scare but will stop the possibility of "cat gibbage".
