I am raging right now so I do apologise... just had 6 police cars at my house. Heard footsteps outside, opened the blinds to see a bloke in a ski mask!! Called the police but they did off. Can't sleep. Totally shaking! They think they were after the cars.... one rs, one mps and an s4. What is wrong with ppl!!!!! :( sorry just need to talk. :(

Sign of the times i'm afraid mate, my boss had something very similar happen to him a couple of months ago.
What do you do though, you can't keep worrying about it ?

U just think, it'll never happen to me.... then bam! I'm not upset, more shocked. The nerve to do it in the first place. Having a stiff drink now. Just feel sick to the core. No sleep tonight. :( you are right though, what can u do! Thanks for the reply though.

Sounds like a horrible situation to be in mate! If you haven't got it already then now might be a good time to invest in some CCTV and make sure they know it's there!

its times like this you realise the law sucks, you should be allowed to go out swinging with a bat without fear of prosecution.

If you ain't standing and banging you ain't living.

How ever, if they have ski masks and raid your house, chances are they have weapons or can stand and bang themselves, please do not attempt to be a hero if this is the case.

If they were the type committed enough to stand and bang they probably wouldn't have run off like little girls just because some bloke opened the blinds. They want to get in, get the keys and get out. The ones willing to risk a stretch for aggravated burglary and GBH in the process are the exception rather than the rule.

With a car line up like yours, I'd be investing heavily in security for my house.

Be in the mindset of: "if they want it, they'll get it" and then rather look at what you can do to stop them from getting your cars, look at what you can do to slow them down - if you can slow them enough, they'll usually look for a less secure target.

CCTV is fine for showing the police afterwards, but it's not going to stop guys in ski masks.

I would invest in a set of removable bollards that you cement in to your drive (you may get away with just one if your drive is narrow enough). Whenever you come home, up go the bollards. This means that even if they do break in to your house and get the car keys, they've also gotta find the bollard key then run outside, take it down, get in the car and then make their escape.

I'd also invest in a composite front door with minimal glass, those things are almost impossible to bust through - even with the big rams used by the police and fire service. I know that for a fact because our neighbour is a fireman and if they come up against a composite door they'll go smash a window instead because they've been known to spend over 30 minutes trying to break one down.

If you've not got them already, have trackers fitted to the cars. A week after our TT was stolen off the drive our neighbour had his impreza knicked at 12pm on a Thursday afternoon while they were at work - broad daylight, they crowbarred his front door open and ransacked the house until they found his spare keys. When my neighbour got home for lunch at 2 and saw what had happened he got straight on the phone to the police and tracker company and they found his car within 20 minutes.

A steering wheel lock is another good idea, again it's not going to stop them if they have the keys but it's another 30 seconds they'll be delayed.

It makes me so angry that this is the type of thing that we need to do these days even in nice areas of the country to keep our property safe. But as you've experienced first hand, there are little scrotes out there who will give it a punt - so best to be as prepared as you can be.

Judging by Housey's experience with his RS4, it's probably almost certain it was the RS they were after - the MPS and S4 would have just been a bonus if they'd found the key for those too.

As of February 2011 there were over 150 missing Audi's in the Warwickshire area. I wouldn't write off the fact that they were after the S4 as well.
I always thought they nicked cars like those to break for parts and sell on. But apparently they also get shipped across to Zimbabwe and other African countries by the container load. Or they're used in robberies.

Current rate for nicking and delivering an Audi A4 S-line in the West Mids is £1500 per car. So you can see why car crime is on the rise when the little teen scum that would usually just do this for fun are now taking on jobs like this for a quick buck.

They wouldn't have turned their noses up at the S4 but I suspect had the RS4 not been there they may not have been there either - after all, with Housey they went to all the effort of attaching some sort of tracker to his car so they could find his house later.

There is clearly a lot of money to be had in the RS4 stealing business.
