I don't want to pick strawberry's. Nobody does, however I think the law system should change to put naughty boys, dole scroungers etc... on the job instead of getting in foreigners all the time.

In the lower-middle and lower earning brackets, I'd say that compared to our European friends the British are less productive (this is my biased gut feeling) and research has proved that they are certainly less well educated and have fewer qualifications.

Meh, I'd struggle to find anyone who could properly describe a national identity that they associate themselves to other than "white" "british" "england" "queen" "fish and chips" "eastenders".

As for the many ethnic groups, how is the addition of another destroying it? In fact, those groups already exist and are being added to. And also, if an ethnic group, in terms of culture, were to dissolve/be destroyed, then it's obviously not strong enough to survive and like many cultures throughout history, will disappear from this location.

Killing all the people part of an ethnic group, coule be considered genocide, yes. But that's totally unrelated to this thread.

wouldn't that increase wastage though?

would you rather a bloke in need of money doing the job or someone being forced to do it?

the second is probably going to end up with a lot of carelessly damaged produce.

i know cameron was talking about the public services beeing at breaking point back in 2007 because of all the immigrants coming to the country.

ofcourse were running out of space look at the housing market.... we barely have enough housing for the people born here

Indeed, no one wants to pick fruit. Did you know that squash pickers command a would-be salary of nearly £30,000 because they can't find anyone to do it? And guess who mostly takes these jobs - immigrant workers (yes, even at these wages).

All because our lovely British population is... ahem... too good for such jobs (although research shows otherwise).

Are you telling me a Pole will come over here to earn say £150 a week to pick strawberries, get no benefits and turn down 250 per week for doing nowt?

If thats true then they are thick... but in reality we all know that they, get their benefits and then go work somewhere cushty 'cash in hand'.

Or they have a better work ethic than you and other British people? Something has to account for the fact they are net contributors... and that wouldn't be the case if they just scrounged.

I'd do it. But where do I get the opportunity to apply for these jobs? I don't see adverts anywhere for jobs like that. Instead I'm stuck in a £12k job cleaning up after lazy ***** who can't use a bin or a toilet properly because there's nothing more available to me at the moment.

A £30k extrapolated salary wouldn't substitute a guaranteed £12k. Fruit picking is largely seasonal, so while the hourly pay is comparatively high, it is only for a few months of the year and long days. Ok, yes it is a bit sensationalist on my part to use that extrapolated figure but it allows for comparisons and shows that they're obviously struggling to find people to fill the jobs.

Also, I'm sorry to hear you feel stuck - I'd hate to be in that situation and I wish you good luck getting 'unstuck', whatever that may mean for you

If you just work a basic week (39 hours) at the minimum wage then you will earn a weekly gross amount of £226.59

When picking fruit on piece rates,a picker can earn anything between £200 - £450+ a week depending on how good a picker they are (guide only)

even if you were getting paid per fruit and were incredible at doing it earning 450 a week your nowhere near 30k

What have you been doing to get another job? Not having a go, genuinely curious. I simply refuse to believe there's NOTHING else available to you than cleaning.

The EU facilitates migration within it's supported countries, if you don't like it pick one and go there instead.
