Now im not english so i cant comment on this question but it really really confuses me why the ordinary working person of england votes tory.
The torys are for the rich, everytime they are in power more pepole are made unemployed and general life standards go down, even a child knows this, so why does the english working man vote for these fools ?

Even a child knows this? Is that a child of a labour supporter, who always whinge and moan about the tories? The kid grows up believing their stupid parents rubbish.

Because the only feasible alternative currently is Labour... and I'd rather cut off my own legs than see them back in charge any time soon.

What makes you think they are only for the rich and don't represent the 'ordinary working person'?

Once Thatcher had sorted out the country - living standards for everyone in this country took a massive leap forward in the late 80s.

WHAT ???? thatcher didnt sort anything out,she raped this country, she only made in better for the already rich, the poor just got poorer.

The English "working" man/woman, votes for whoever he/she chooses at the time. Your view on politics appears to be very childish.

Smoke and mirrors. Super-wealthy Conservative donors spend a huge amount of money convincing the working classes that the tax they pay is supporting the work-shy benefit scroungers, and that the public sector is "bloated with non-jobs". Only it turns out when they get in power non-jobs means nurses, teachers, programmes like EMA Sure Start. They find out that actually most people are worse off because while they pay less tax, they pay more for public services that would otherwise have been provided by the council and of course they live in a worse society (which the top-Tories don't believe exists).

Here's the video I was looking for (0:50s onwards). Labour would rather have the poor poorer as long as the gap between rich and poor got smaller.

Lets not forget - social mobility and the gap between rich and poor got worse under the last Labour government - and this was during the 'boom' times with billions spent on it.

Ok then ill ask another question.
Why when the tories are in power they go to war on the ordinary british person and not the people who cause the chaos ?

You're from up North where people still hate Thatcher and the Tories. They've passed on these beliefs to their kids. I remember the last election and was dumbfounded at the no. of 18/19 year olds that couldn't give a solid reason as to why they voted labour. The most common being 'my parents vote for them'.

So if thatcher wasnt that bad why do most pepole hate her ?

Quite simply people lost a lot of jobs when she was in power. The reasons as to why those jobs went are a whole another debate, that perhaps understandably come second when entire communities suddenly have problems in terms of putting bread on the table.

It's often not the case of who's best but who's not worse. Had labour got in we would be the next Greece, Ireland or Portugal. All of them are rubbish, just some at certain times are less rubbish than the rest. That said I would pay money to have a leader as strong as Thatcher was, arcs time when we needed a pm with balls she stepped upto the plate.
