I found this rather interesting, gave me a different viewpoint on Thatcher.
History of Modern Britain is a superb documentary series - definitely worth watching the whole thing.

I did think that at first, but refrained from posting before I consider all the various economic and price effects of such a disparity. My gut tells me that the theory isn't that simple, unfortunately.[TW]Fox;18983965 said:Surely the 'poor' earning an average of for the sake of argument £20k and the rich earning an average of £100k is better than the 'poor' earning 15k and the rich earning £50k?
usually labour **** everything up slowly but give people a lto fo tree stuff.
the Tories then have to come in and be the mean parent taking away all the new toys and lowering the child's pocket money as moneys tight.
then once things are reasonably fixed and starting to improve labour hop in with "look at all the free sweets we've got for you kids" everyone runs back to them and then slowly it all goes **** up again till the Tories get brought in to fix it.
why?
It's clearly not the high end of the debate spectrum.
I wouldn't bother questioning scorza, I just tend to ignore him now.
so why does the english working man vote for these fools ?
I suppose the probability was you'd be right one of these days+1
For once we agree!

And I say that as somebody in probably a position no better than him. I don't despise or berate those who are better than me - I aspire to be like them.
when Labour get back in next vote they can spend our way out of debt like it should have been done in the first place.
I have never voted tory and never will.
I have to leave this thread, the retard levels are too high.

Now im not english so i cant comment on this question but it really really confuses me why the ordinary working person of england votes tory.
The torys are for the rich, everytime they are in power more pepole are made unemployed and general life standards go down, even a child knows this, so why does the english working man vote for these fools ?
To be a working man and cast a vote for the Tories or Labour in its last incarnation pretty much makes you a mug. A kick in the balls or a poke in the eye, sir? Same thing...
