Asus gtx 480

If you want to go for a GTX 480 - then please go for one using the Gigagyte custom cooler- it is much quieter and cooler than the stock one (which is used on the ASUS card).

Also, at £220 this is an excellent deal.

dont they have issue's though with the overclock not being stable ?

While a few certainly have had issues with them, the majority have been fine.

The last I read around 11% had been found to be faulty, which apparently is a little above the normal failure rate but not too bad.

It gives you nearly a 9 in 10 chance of a good 'un. :)

Or more than 1 in 10 chance of a duff 1:(

Wouldn't touch a Soc myself, you could be one of the unlucky 33+ people with a duff one, not to mention the rest that aren't stable on their systems.:(

Gigabyte chucked them out the door at half price or less for a reason, nothing to do with eol imo.

I would'nt go for the SOC either. Seen too many tales of woe with them. I would have suggested the SE but that has really shot up in price this week. If i was getting a 480 now i would get the KFA2 GeForce GTX 480 LTD OC ANARCHY for less than the Asus.

^^^ As I've said in other threads, I bought one last week for a similar price, and love it. Coolest running card I've had in a long while.
