On the BBC's onscreen score display:

On either side of the frame amount (25), there's numbers, in this case it's 3 and 6. What do those numbers mean? I can't work it out.

It doesn't seem to be their rank or the amount of frames they've won during the session against the other player? As they've played two frames so far and the numbers haven't changed!

I'm sure it's obvious no doubt but halp! :)

You can't play on the table multiple times per frame, no? Weird, it didn't update until he won his second 'frame'. Just trying to suss out the scoring system, wasn't too sure :)

I tried explaining the scoring system to a mate in the pub last night, he didn't have a clue.

Snookers one of the few sports I actually enjoy watching. When does this championship end?

Yeah, that's the one. Since I started watching Murphy was on 3. He won and went into the next frame. The score didn't update to 4, it stayed at 3. He then won another frame and it updated to 4 but not 5 which it should be? So, I'm assuming if he wins this time it'll update to 5 meaning he's actually on 6  :D

You visit the table as many times as it takes to complete the frame. This can be from 0 times (if the other player pots off the break and then pots enough for there to be no point you retrurning (around 74 points) to lots of times.

Are you sure that he didnt just pot a few balls, then miss something and sit down?

I didn't mean that literally, I meant can they play a game from start to finish multiple times per frame. It's just confusing me as to why the score won't update whenever someone wins a damn game :p

They could have the frame restarted, quite rare though on tv games from what i can remember.
Probably muppets not updating the scores quick enough then :D

Maybe they just assumed he won the 3rd at the time you started watching it, and it was the 3rd round being played, so they had no need to update it when he actually won? He then won the fourth and they updated it to 4? Lol.

Each frame is from where all the balls are on the table until the point where one player pots enough balls so that the other player cant catch up. Then the table gets re-racked and then the next frame is played. Its the best of x number of frames.

You must have got confused somewhere.

I think I've just started picking up the tournament on a very bad example of score updating. Maybe the score operator was snoozing :p

Thanks chaps! :D
