** The Official Royal Wedding Thread **

The world's interest in the Royal Wedding highlights why the Royal Family is important. Delegates from all corners of the world will be attending. Not only is this event important for our economy, it is important for our relationship with other countries.

Something highlighted by the fact that the Syrian delegate has had his invitation withdrawn by the palace.

Isnt that pre wedding though? She will become princess and future queen, I am sure she has no qualms :o

As they are pronounced man and wife then she will be then known as "Her Royal Highness Princess William of Wales." But that doesn't make her "Princess Catherine". It's because she isn't of Royal blood. Hence why Sarah Ferguson isn't Princess Sarah and Diana was never officially Princess Diana, but rather Lady Diana.

However, if William receives a Dukedom, then she'll become "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Ahleckzville" (or any other vacant Dukedom).

And then for her to become Princess Catherine, the Queen would have to bestow the title of a "Princess Of The United Kingdom" upon her.

tl;dr - She doesn't automatically become Princess Catherine, it's up to the Queen to decide when (if) this happens.

According to a show I watched on it yesterday, she doesn't get her own and actually takes on his title which is why William is likely to recieve a Dukedom. No girlie wants to be Princess William of Wales.:p

Let's keep our fingers crossed for the poor lass that William does get made a Duke. :D

Not wanting to look silly but can someone please tell me what the KG stands for after William's name?

Unfair how the press ask peole how Catherine compares to Diana..

I don't think they are doing it in a mean way, it's just that Diana was such an iconic figure for a lot of people, and loosing her was a great loss to millions. I think people look at Kate as being possibly a similar figure, however will never replace Diana but will formalise it in her own special way, just like Diana did.
