I have seen quite a few of his book spin offs - most feel like a cheap Sci-Fi channel 1hr filler.

However having just seen 'The Mist' really had the film earn some interest.
from myself. An unusual film with some obvious yet curiously interesting plots. Most of all, the ending.

I won't spoil the film but will recommend this as one of his best recent movies!

What would you say is his top film in your opinion?

I really like the Shining, even though I sort of consider it a separate work to the book, given how different it is. Mist was also pretty awesome, and I thought the ending was good.

IT
Green Mile
Shawshank
Carrie
Misery
Shining
Christine

In that order. Other S King stuff is straight to DVD garb imo (the films, not the books).

Are you kidding? It's one of the best endings to a film ever!

I preferred the ending in the book, I just felt that

[There really are spoilers coming, I'm going to talk about the end of the film so turn back now if you don't want to know]

him shooting everyone at the end was okay but the reveal that they were surrounded by the army once everyone bar himself were dead was tacky. It just felt like two obvious endings rolled into one. With the book their survival was left ambiguous, we know they got away but not if there was any hope of a future, it was bleaker and more hopeful at the same time for me.

Mainly I was just annoyed they changed the ending though :p
