Just traded a 09 sirion in for a 07 zafari as family is expanding and I was under the impression it had FSH but it had a small service at 4900m in 2008 and no record of a service since. It is now on 38500 miles and I will think I will just get full service done on it but I was wondering does it need a cambelt change?

How much do you think it will cost full service + cam belt kit change?

Did you not actually check the Sh when your bought it. You could have some comeback on the dealer (assuming dealer)

and what is a Zafari?

Yes dealer, I didn't look in service book until I got home I am going to ring him tuesday. I am to trusting possibly then

If I had to pay how much would you think?

did the dealer tell you it was FSH, do you have a copy of the advert that says fsh.

what car is it, what engine, what does the servicing guide say about schedules inc cam belt?

how come you didn't do all these checks before buying?

well it looks like 10 years /100,000 for belt change and I will be asking dealer about missing stamps as advert was FSH and I don't have a copy of it. I assumed it as fact but I will give him benefit of doubt for now.

how much service be £200?

oh and ignore the 10 years 100k miles for the belt change

half that and be safe or at worse 6 years/60k

ok thanks rather get it done to be honest for peace of mind.

you don't need to on a 4 year old car lol, this is just throwing money away.

take the fsh thing up with the dealer and stick to your guns. you can check with vauxhall to see if it is on their system as serviced and even the mileage. Worst case is you get the dealer to service it.

never trust a car dealer. Yes ok, some may be honest but their job is to make a profit and they er will.

Yes, the waterpumps are known to fail around 50k taking the belt and valves with it.

The service schedule is every year or 20k which ever comes first so the OPs has missed at least 3 services.

Oh ok didn't know that. Is that just on certain engines or all the petrols?

All of them as far as I know although some of the petrols are chain driven, the diesels have a failsafe with the valves which don't require the head to be removed to fix them it is some kind of pin that breaks rather than bending the valves.
