Osama bin Laden is dead - no graphic/violent images.

yaaay he's dead! and I was waiting for his next episode to be released to on video cassette :(

but srsly, Can the American and British forces now GTFO out of Afghanistan and Iraq now? They have done what they came for.

I too am happy of bin Laden's death, the son of a bitch deserved it - he made Islam look like a terrorist religion making innocent people die and now there is going to be a never ending war with the taliban who are undefeated in any war. Also why did they dump his body at sea - its not an Islamic burial!!!! They have to be buried in the ground! - another proof that the guy and his followers are not Muslims.

8 out or 10 of the top new story on BBC are about this, bloody hell who really gives a damn, one article is plenty.

Great news. Not sure why they've dumped his body at sea though :p

Apparently no one else wanted for fear or it becoming a shrine, the Saudis are rather embarrassed of him by all accounts and rejected the US offer to return it.

Why spend $trillions and years chasing him to kill him in revenge for the terrorist attacks, to then give him a proper burial out at sea with no evidence? All a bit strange if you ask me. Glad they got him though.

Didn't something similar happen with Hitler though? To prevent people worshipping where he was buried? - could be wrong...

Very little about this makes Bin Laden a martyr. He has been repressed into hiding for nearly a decade, Al-Qaeda is the smallest it has been for nearly 30 years. They haven't done anything worthwhile for years, and the muslim community is turning on them. He finally gets found, popped off quietly and dumped in the sea where nobody can enshrine him.

How does that make him a martyr? If anything he would be extremely disappointed that his ideals petered out into mere undertones.

Funny... Considering a large amount of the "rebels" and protesters in the Arab world at the moment are likely to be "Al'Qaeda...

Just goes to show how two faced we really are.

Because he was "evil" apparently and this forum love being patriotic and overbearing for things like this...

Not that I think either way about him but essentially he was an opposition leader hunted for the last ten years, fighting the percived invaders of his home area with the means he had at his disposal. The fact we (the UK, US and west) have killed far more civilians in his area than his "group" ever killed will be beside the point...

Yeh, thats what I thought

good to see some here have sense though.

Of course, I could be talking out of my arse. How often did he swap hide-outs? Did they even keep information like that so close to him? Did they recieve a warning before the raid, allowing them the chance to destroy any information?

I agree, or was it an "in and out" mission? Maybe the Chopper crash conveniently alerted them allowed them to destroy all info? - Very unlucky that a chopper would malfunction, crash with no injuries on this particular mission...!

I am very interested to figure out how Pakistan kept this quiet, as it seems impossible for them not to have known he was there.

theres now footage of the compound inside, on BBC news.

lots of blood at the base of a bed and clothes strewn around.

Burying him at sea immediatly was a completely ridiculous idea - it now provides plenty of ammo for the tinfoil hat brigade, well done
