Iraq was supported by many Americans regardless of the original intention and false claims. To claim that a man who murdered 3000 civilians in the largest terrorist attack in US history was dead, only for him to stick out his head and say "peek-a-boo" would be a HUGE embarrassment for Obama and no American would be able to stand behind him and say, "Oh well. I still supported your move to announce his death." With Iraq, people could still say, "You're attacking the enemy (right or wrong)... You've overthrown a despicable dictator..." etc.
What possible excuse could Americans make for their Commander-in-Chief if this turned out to be wrong?
My mistake. But I stand by the comparisson to the destruction of Hitler's remains.
