Osama bin Laden is dead - no graphic/violent images.

Why could they withdraw from Afghanistan? Al Qaeda has nothing to do with The Taliban. Bin Laden's Al Qaeda haven't made succeeded in a major attack against the US/Coalition for almost a decade. Their network has been massively disrupted, they have no money and little resources to plan an attack.
Can I have some of your opium please?

taliban let them stay in afghanistan... they shared the same training grounds and stuff...

al qaeda probably have loads of money from drugs you know afghanistan was full of poppy fields?

Pakistan don't seem bothered about it. Why should we?
I would be amazed if they are not bothered, but what can they do now?

That's no big deal because no one cares and in this case the action justifies the means.

A very dangerous precedent there I think. Who is Obama to decide when to breach a sovereign nations territory. Are we really saying self interest trumps all now?

I am not surprise if Pakistan will vow a war on terror against USA next after stupid and coward of PM David Cameron give Pakistan £650 million pounds!

USA is a smell of fishy going on as a cover up!

You paint a picture of him being man handled outside the buildings in the compound, and of him being put up against a wall and given a summary execution.

But have you got any source for this ? as some reports i've read said he was shot in a gun battle with US troops and reportedly using other people in the compound as human shields ?

The footage of the bedroom where I think he was killed looked messy but there was no sign of a gun battle or shootout. I couldn't see any bullet holes in the wall just a big blood puddle.

In the case of hunting down the worlds most wanted terrorist self-interest is paramount for all of us including our "trustworthy" partner Pakistan.

No what we're saying is if you can't stop them with force there's **** all you can do really.

It's not exactly a precedent either since the first tribe of man stuck a spear in their neighbours to gain their hunting ground it's been the way of the world.

Not sure where your getting this idea that America has trespassed on sovereign soil. Several Pakaistani intelligence agents were with the team. If the assault wasn't at least unofficially sanctioned they wouldn't have been with them.

What people fail to understand is that governments like those in Pakistan can never be seen as openly allowing allied troops to operate on their soil. Behind the screens thou they allow the allies to preform operations as needed. Pakistan has no more love of fundementalists, Taliban, or Al-Queda than any other government. They want them gone, and need the americans help. However at the same time they are constrained by the will of anti-american sentiment that runs deep in many areas of their country. Pakistan will never offer official sanction for such activities as it will just stir the populace up.

Because he was not going to be taken alive, he wanted to die a martyr and thats what he got, taking him alive would have been a victory for America.

So he wanted to die but still hid himself away for 10 years. Of course he didn't want to die. The americans shot him twice to make sure he was dead, they asked him to surrender and he didn't so they shot him. If they wanted to take him alive, they could have done.

jumping to conclusions i bit don't we think ?

The footage isn't exactly amazing quality, nor does it survey the entire office in sufficient detail to establish there are no bullet marks anywhere.

People are jumping to conclusions.

I disagree. It could have caused more problems. For example hostage taking for his release. Easier just to kill him, kick him over the edge of a ship and be done with it. For once I think the US have handled it well.

No one said it was Laden that was killed in the room anyways.

SO its either gonna have 2 outcomes, they either fall into many small factions as they fight with each other, or, how likly is it we see a revenage attack?

The sun newspaper show image picture of massive huge hole blast through bin laden bedroom's wall is a laughable! Twice shot in his head or that big blast hole through his wall could have damaged all of his bedroom, it all cover up, a 100% cover up! If that big blast hole through his wall, why there isn't any brick of wall fallen into the floor, I seen nothing there!
