Hi all,

The usual sources suggest Apple are rolling out a new iMac refresh today. My question isn't "what will it be?" because I can wait the few hours it will take for the store to come back online.

My dad bought a new iMac on Saturday without consulting me first and has spent the weekend getting it all back online (had a few issues with Time Machine and multiple logins). Would Apple be happy to take the iMac back so he can get one of the new refreshed models?

I'm sure that the online orders were being delayed deliberately due to this update today (if true).

I'm guessing it could be taken back to the shop saying you don't want it anymore - 7/10/30/? day return thing? Then just buy a new one when it's in store - or the same one for less!

Sometimes it's easier this way than trying to swap it for the new model.

I'm sure Apple offer a return policy if you buy a product within a certain number of days of it's refresh. So if he's bought an iMac and today is indeed the refresh, I'm sure he can take it back and get the updated model. I know they've done that for ipods, iphones and laptops at least...

I'm assuming from cheapest to most expensive, they're using the i5-2400s, i5-2500s, i5-2500s and i5-2400? With i7-2600s and i7-2600 for upgrades?

Just ordered mine, was going to be replacing my 2 year old 24" anyway, so the refresh is an added bonus

Went for the lower spec 27"

I want one :(

But I'll get over it like I always do, my 2008 24" is still spot on if I'm honest, I don't need a new machine. Worst thing about being a Mac user... you really have to search around for real excuses to upgrade.

So compared to current Imac's, better GPU, slightly faster CPU, thunderbolt ..

Not worth worrying about upgrading then if you own a last gen imac imo.

so if i got the 21" could i run another monitor from the thunderbolt? if so hmmmm this would make playing eve easier than my mbp
