US now stating that Bin Laden was unarmed when shot. He was resisting arrest. A part of me is wondering why not tackle him to the ground.

Another typical Arknor post attempting to play the devils advocate (read: "Troll"). Posts like this one are ridiculous; are you seriously going to sit on this forum and try and hold some moral high ground as to why the most wanted ******* in the world shouldn't have been hunted down and executed on the spot like the vile scum that he was?
Whether he was armed or not is irrelevant, he got exactly what he deserved. Had this been your average criminal on the street I would whole heartedly agree with your tiresome point but this wasn't your average criminal was it? It was a dangerous and evil maniac. Justice was dealt accordingly.
What do you mean, "If they got that far?", it wasn't the final level of COD.
He resisted, he was shot, he was killed. No conspiracy or inconsistency. It was a military assault on an armed compound with an ongoing armed resistance, whether he was personally armed or not is irrelevant. In the circumstances any resistance is a thread to the men and the mission, he was killed in a combat operation.
That is it.
Killing Osama helps the situation greatly as he is the guiding force and founder of his particular movement. Keep in mind that the people in Al-Queda are very violent. They fight and squabble with one another as much as they fight against the west. A highly disciplined lot they are not. While Osama may not have had much operational control over the years, he had a huge amount of respect and charisma within the organization. One word from him and a dispute could be settled. One word from him and an action taken. One word from him and countries shuddered. It takes a special kind of charisma to keep such a violent and fracticous lot unified. With him gone that key unifying factor is removed. The organization will likely fragment and become much less capable of carrying out large scale atrocities. Of course terrorism will remain and any loony with a gun and a bomb can still cause death and destruction, but the ability to carry out large scale co-ordinated attacks is now greatly diminished.
It is not about black and white stopping them or not. They will always be there. It is about reducing capability levels.
For the record I'm Canadian, and I have lived in Europe for years. I fully support my American neighbours and while I didn't take to the streets last night (bit over the top to do so in my opinion) I went home, had a nice cold beer and felt good about him being dead.
when did i ever defend osama? i said i would like him to have been captured to see what information or insight they could have got from him. i never said hre was innocent or didnt deserve to die.
Has this been linked to yet?

Might of had other means of weaponary on him that couldn't be seen? Terrorists appear to be quite crafty.
Unarmed and "Very One Sided" that is what officials have said.
Four/Five man couldve easily taken him to the ground.
I've been saying the samething!
It wouldve been far better to capture him.

America is number one country and they took out the best terrorist in the world. I am really happy because Osama killed a ton of Americans when he was in charge and that made me rage because killing Americans is overrated and lame. In my opinion he should have been captured and put in prison for a few years till he learned his lesson. You gotta remember that he didnt kill Americans by his hand, he just told other people to do it which is kinda different imo. But sadly I think that al queda will elect a new leader and continue killing americans which means we will not be leaving iraq/pakistan/turkey/somalia invasion for many years to come.
twfox and his cronies will probably try to ridicule you then, be very careful of your grammar
posting on an internet forum is seriousl business!

I can't wait for this to be over, another forum I use constantly has the Team America theme playing, I did like that song however now it's getting annoying!
