Osama bin Laden is dead - no graphic/violent images.

Oh you masters of comedy with those title changing powers you possess. What next? A not so sneaky insertion of the word 'pancake'? The laughter, it is killing me.

Do you shed tears for Bin Laden or the perceived lack of due process ?

No I don't care about him or his like in the slightest, why would I?

I care about rights of any person, no matter how terrible or horrific in the eyes of the mob; laws and precedence and in this case the right of sovereignty.

If we justify summary execution 'we' are no better or worse then they are, morally, for all their percieved wrongs.

There have been horifically worse armed conflicts historically that managed to largely adhere to notions of law and process in the aftermath; now the progression appears to be summary assasination.

I wouldn't want to think about the legal and logistical nightmare of dragging him through anything like such, but it has to be better than instantly creating a myth and martyr out of what was largely a figurehead of what appeared to be a declining group.

I know what he is responsible for is utterly terrible, but the answer isn't and should never be an eye for an eye.

I doubt it exit wounds are usually lrge and ugly, would say more of a entry wound.

That looks like either a very close range shot with a still unstable bullet or a keyhole double tap with the shape of the wound, either way its an instant death shot, depending on trajectory would either take out the brainstem or sever the spinal cord.

If you start to make exceptions in the way you treat people those exceptions can slide out of control,

if you see one person acting in the wrong way you stop that person, what you should not do is stop that person by acting in the same manner as they did if you can use other means.

If you act as they do you stoop to their level and loose the moral highground you are fighting to protect.

yup its true what a cruel world we live in.....

I can't believe you hippies think we shouldn't celebrate the death of Osama. He should have been killed decades ago. Certain people just don't deserve life...this is why we still have the death penalty in a few states.

Osama is just one of many who should have been dead a long time ago for the benefit of the world (Qaddafi, Kim jon il...etc)
